Parish Finances
The Parish accountant has just completed the annual statement of Income and Expenditure for the year from July 2009 - June 2010. Parishioners contribute to the parish income by weekly envelope and standing orders. The income for the year was €71,384 and the expenditure was €73,252 with a small shortfall of €1,868. The parish expenditure includes light, heat, phone, stationary, salaries, cleaning, candles, insurance, professional fees, maintenance of Church and Presbyteries, skips, etc. During the year there were no fundraising activities and no expenditure on major capital projects. The envelopes for the coming year are being prepared and any new parishioners who do not have a box of envelopes are requested to contact the parish office. It is also possible to contribute by standing order and a form is available at the parish office. We hope to publish a financial newsletter in the coming months. Many thanks to all who give to the parish, all who collect, count and bank the monies.

Art and Architecture Commission
The Parish Priest, Chairs of Finance Committee and Parish Pastoral Council and the Architect met with the Art and Architecture Commission on Thursday last. The Commission had discussed the present situation in Lusk Parish and had considered the plans we placed before them. The Commission have recommended to us that we refer our plans to the Historic Churches Commission for advice and direction on the reordering of the sanctuary and the refurbishment and upgrading of the interior of the Church. Given the real concerns of parishioners and the complexity of the planning process the Commission did not feel that they could deliberate on our proposed plans until the parameters of the permissible works were agreed with the relevant authorities. They expressed the opinion that there will be a long, complicated and expensive process involved in securing planning permission. They recommended that we approach Fingal County Council and seek a declaration for the works on the lighting, heating, flooring and internal décor, and if such works are non controversial that we could proceed with them. After the summer break we will discuss these options with all interested parties and discern the best way forward.
