Church Restoration:
Following on from our meeting in the Spring with the Diocesan Art and Architecture Commission, and the comments from parishioners at the meeting in the school and input from the Parish Pastoral Council members and Parish Finance Committee members, our Architect has been working on a revised plan for our Church. This plan will be presented to the Art and Architecture Commission in the coming week for their comment and observations. When the Commission have considered the plan it will be presented to the parish for comment and observation. Our committment is to develop a plan that will satisfy the people in the parish, will be approved by the Commission and be passed by the planners. There is no need for anyone to worry that work will be undertaken in the Sanctuary without further consultation. At present work is being carried out on the lights and some painting in the sacristy area.

Parish Office Opening Times: From Monday 12th July to August 1st 2010 inclusive, the Parish office will only be open Monday and Friday 10.00am to 12.00pm.

The Old School:
The Old School on the green, used as the Black Raven Pipeband Hall is in poor condition. The band requested a meeting with the Parish Priest and Chairpersons of the Parish Council and Finance Committee recently. Following on from that meeting the Diocesan Authorities recommended that the building be surveyed. This survey indicates that work will be needed in a number of key areas to make the building suitable for future use by the band and the parish. Five holes in the roof have been patched and an architect has been engaged as this building is a protected structure. We are working now to quantify the extent and costs of these works. The survey will be available to view in the Parish Office shortly.
