Boxes of Weekly Envelopes
Thanks for everyone who contributed to the parish by weekly envelope during the past year. Thanks too to those who distribute, collect, count and lodge the weekly envelopes. This week we finish the 2009-2010 boxes and in the coming week a new box of envelopes will be distributed. If you are reviewing how much you give please know that even a 50 cent increase would help us close the gap between our income and our outgoings. As you know the money contributed to the parish in the weekly envelope stays in the parish and helps us meet our ordinary running costs. Anyone who does not have box of envelopes is welcome to contact Yvonne in the Parish Office by calling in, phone, or email and she will be delighted to assist you. Thanks too to all who contribute by standing order or annual contribution.

Tax Relief Scheme
Did you know that for PAYE taxpayers, the tax you paid on the money you give to the Parish may be refunded to the parish? The Tax Relief Scheme is completely confidential. Firstly you have to pay all your tax PAYE. Secondly you have to give at least €250 (i.e. to Dues and the Parish Fund) within the tax year, monies given in basket collections are not eligible. Thirdly the parish has to issue you a CHY2 Certificate, and when you sign it and send it back then all the tax you paid at either 20% or 41% will be refunded to the parish. For those who pay tax at 20% and give €250 the refund that can be claimed by the parish is €62.50 making your gift worth €312 and for those on 41% tax the refund is €125 bring your total to €424. There is great potential in this scheme to increase parish income and make your generous giving more effective. To help us begin to avail of this scheme we will distribute receipts for the tax year 2008-2009 to all those people who contributed more than €200. We appreciate all contributions to parish income and we welcome parishioners assistance with the introduction of the Tax Relief Scheme
