Happy Faces Day
Takes place across Ireland over the next month.  Approx. 100 photographers are donating their services for one day to help raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland.  Photographer Denise Cannon of DesignWorks Photography is your local Happy Faces Day photographer and will be taking portraits on Sunday, 28th March from 12 to 5pm at her studio at 26 Church Street, Skerries.  Balloons, facepainting and mini-makeovers.  Portraits €25 with 100% of all proceeds going to the charity.  Contact 8021100 for info or check out details at

Pieta House Darkness into Light 5k Event
Pieta House ‘Darkness into Light 5k Event’ will take place this year on Saturday 8th May 2010 in two venues.  The Phoenix Park, Dublin 7 and University of Limerick.  Participants will be invited to walk or run the 5k route, starting whilst it is still dark and completing the circuit as dawn is breaking. This will be a symbolic event to give hope to those affected by Suicide and Self-Harm. On line registration will be available from 15th February 2010 at Postal registration will also be available. An Ecumenical Memorial Service: Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital will host an Ecumenical Memorial Service to remember all babies who have died before or around the time of birth will be held in Church of Our Lady of Dolours, Dolphins Barn on Sunday 18th April 2010 at 3.00pm. This is a unique and special way for families to remember their babies. As always, the participation of parents, families, friends and staff makes the service truly meaningful.
